Noor ul Islam Mosque – Coventry

History – Noor ul Islam Mosque

In 1957, a group of devout Muslims from Pakistan and Kashmir, guided by their foresight and wisdom, purchased a hut building and the surrounding land in Coventry with the vision of establishing the city’s first Jamia Mosque. Their initiative laid the foundation for what would become a central place of worship and community for Muslims in the region.

In 1961, the Islamic Brotherhood was formally registered as a non-governmental and non-political organisation. Its primary purpose was to address the spiritual and communal needs of Muslims by constructing the Noor-ul-Islam Jamia Mosque. Designed to accommodate up to 1,000 worshippers, the mosque was equipped with essential facilities and accommodations to serve the community.

The Aims and Objectives of The Islamic Brotherhood is to acknowledge the needs of ‘the third generation’ understanding of Islam and practices and to provide essential English literature materials to educate our vulnerable children and try to convey the correct beliefs of the Ahle Sunna Wal Jamaat.

Our Family Centre and Noor-Ul-Islam Madressa are two key components to provide all necessary provision for our children as well as general needs such as Bereavement gatherings and accommodations etc…

The Islamic Brotherhood Executive Committee denounces all forms of extremist and terroristic views and it’s acts through its work pratices, and promotes that Islam is a religion of Peace, Harmony and Love.
